In 1987 Roy Newman planted his roots in Springfield, Illinois. Since migrating from the  State of Mississippi, he has strived to make a difference in the lives of ordinary citizens.
 
Pastor Newman has a passion and heart for serving people and has dedicated himself to  making a difference through his church life and community volunteer efforts.
 
Pastor Newman began preaching in 1991 while at Pilgrim Rest Baptist Church  (Springfield). He has a passion to see lives transformed through preaching and teaching of  God's Word. Ordained in 1997, Newman previously served as Youth Pastor of Union  Baptist Church, Springfield, for over 9 years.
 
He is a member of the Interfaith Advisory Board through IL Secretary of State, a volunteer  chaplain for Springfield City Police Department and a volunteer for Real Men Read  through the Springfield School District. He is former Chairman of the Board of Directors for the Springfield Urban League and Salvation Army Advisory Board (Springfield). He is  the former president of The Ministerial Alliance of Springfield and Vicinity and a current member. He served as a member of SIU School of Medicine Community Health Policy  Committee. He has also served on the Memorial Medical Center Foundation and Mental  Health Centers of Central Illinois Boards.
 
Pastor Newman has a heart desire to see our youth succeed and reach their maximum  potential spiritually and educationally. He is the founding Pastor of Fresh Visions  Community Church and is celebrating 20 years in this capacity. FVCC, a multi generational ministry is nearing 8 years in their multi-purpose worship facility that sits on  nearly 8 acres and includes a wellness center as well.
He holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration from Mississippi  Valley State University and a Master of Arts in Ministry from Lincoln Christian University. He also completed biblical study courses through Moody Bible Institute and graduate  courses through University of Illinois at Springfield.

He is married to Dr. Jacqueline L. Jones and they are celebrating 34 years of  marriage. He is the proud father of four daughters and eight grandchildren.

Jackie Newman has a strong passion for Christian Development with youth and women’s ministry with a desire to reach people where they are and help them move to where God desires them to be.

Jackie is extremely active in church ministry and various other ministries while actively serving on community, state, regional and national organizations that she views as her ‘mission fields’ and ‘assignments by God’. Jackie devotes service to the following:

Jackie received her formal education in Springfield earning a Bachelor of Arts in Management and a Master of Arts in Public Administration from the University of Illinois at Springfield and is currently completing her dissertation as she works towards the completion of a Doctorate in Public Administration from the University of Illinois at Springfield.

Jackie is married to Roy Newman and with husband Roy, planted Fresh Visions Community Church (FVCC) on the north side of Springfield, IL in 2005.

Jackie is the proud mother of four daughters" Candace, Aree, Joele and Jailin; Grandmother of 3 – Morgan, Jayden and Journei.

Jackie serves as the Executive Director of the Springfield Housing Authority.
